David Hall is the Publisher and Managing Editor of the Electronic Journal of Human Sexuality, now in the 13th year of publication online. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Human Sexuality at the University of the Pacific and a faculty member of The Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality (IASHS).
Dave began his working career as a Naval Aviator flying carrier based aircraft, then worked as a test engineer in the aviation industry in several very interesting programs. (The first test aircraft he worked on is now on the deck of the USS Intrepid in New York City.) He became an aviation accident investigator and was one of the first Fellows of the International Society of Air Safety Investigators. He has taught aviation safety at the University of Southern California, Arizona State University and for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, as well as in many foreign countries, and has published papers in this field.
Along the way Dave discovered IASHS and the world of sexology. Since his education in this area was all experience based, he went back to school and received his PhD in 1995. Since then he founded the Journal, taught college courses, published research papers and has served on the board of several related organizations such as the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality. He speaks and leads workshops at various conferences and lobbies for the Free Speech Coalition.
