The Rev. Dr. Beverly Dale, an ordained Christian clergy in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) currently teaches at Lancaster Theological Seminary and is the founder of the Incarnation Institute for Sex & Faith. After receiving her Doctor of Ministry degree from the Chicago Theological Seminary she has focused most of her thirty years of ministry helping people reconnect their spirits and their bodies. As an outspoken public theologian she confronts sex-negativity in the church and culture with courage and grace. “Rev Bev” served as an ecumenical campus minister at the University of Pennsylvania for over two decades becoming conversant with the sexual issues and struggles for young adults and the racial and sexual minority communities. As a feminist and straight ally she became known as the “conscience of the university.”
Currently serving as a clergy-in-residence at United Christian Church of Levittown, PA, she teaches Christianity and sexuality courses at Lancaster Theological Seminary. A vibrant workshop leader at a variety of sexuality conferences, she is also an artist and writer having published articles on sexuality and faith in a number of progressive Christian magazines. She wrote, produced, and performed in a one-woman show called “An Irreverent Journey from Eggbeaters to Vibrators” and is currently coauthoring a manuscript for professionals to reframe sexuality conversations for communities of faith on sexual health. Her work can be seen in the Youtube series “Sex is Good.” Her channel is RevBeverlyDale.
