Bryce Komaroff has been a sexuality educator for the past 8 years. She started her career doing sexuality peer education at the University of Delaware and interning with Planned Parenthood of Delaware’s Sexuality Education Training Institute. After receiving her BA in Women’s Studies in 2011, she went on to get her Masters in Human Sexuality Education from Widener University. During this time she also began working for Planned Parenthood of Delaware’s Sexuality Education Training Institute. She worked under the federal PREP grant mainly providing evidence-based interventions to middle and high school students throughout Delaware. She also facilitated professional training on various sexual health topics to teachers, community service providers, social workers, and medical staff. During this time, she also got the honor to start presenting at the National Sex Education Conference every year from 2013-2016. She has presented on an array of topics including media literacy & pornography, adapting sex education to be inclusive of teen dating abuse and reproductive coercion, and most notably advancing sex educator skills to challenge microaggressions in the classroom. Her current position with the Department of Health & Mental Hygiene’s Connecting Adolescents to Comprehensive Healthcare (CATCH) program has given her the opportunity to not only continue to educate high school age students on sexual and reproductive health topics, but it has also allowed her to branch out into providing individual and small group contraceptive counseling to students in New York City.
