Councilmember David Grosso is an at-large councilmember, representing residents of all eight wards on the Council of the District of Columbia.  As chairperson of the Council’s Committee on Education, his primary focus is improving the quality of education in the District of Columbia so that every child is in the best position to succeed. In addition to his focus on education, David is committed to promoting the human rights of all D.C. residents; supporting a world-class public library system, creating an economy that works for families and businesses; addressing inequities within the criminal justice system; promoting transparency and open government; strengthening the arts, humanities, and creative economy; and further engaging residents in the political process.


Removing Criminal Penalties for Sex Work in D.C.

In 2017 and again in 2019, Councilmember David Grosso had introduced legislation in the District of Columbia to remove criminal prohibitions on sex work.
