Jazz Sheffer

Pronouns: she/her

Jazz Sheffer has been a sex worker for 6 years. She spent most of that time as a webcam model, working in a Cam Studio in Las Vegas. More recently, she has been working as a stripper, and has dabbled in sugaring (as a “sugar baby”) as well. In May, she graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) with her BA in Gender & Sexuality Studies and a minor in Spanish. She is a activist in feminist grassroots organizing. She does work in the reproductive justice sphere, and the sex worker’s rights movement. Her studies at UNLV focused on meme analysis in the Instagram sex work activism community. In her free time, she loves to do acro yoga and be with her family.

In a political environment that makes sex work increasingly dangerous, the members of the Las Vegas Sex Worker Collective discuss the importance of building community across the many sectors of sex work. This combats a primary industry challenge: isolation, which leads to mental health issues, poor business strategy, vulnerability to exploitation, and a general lack of resources and safety.
