Frances Steele is the Research and Policy Coordinator at Decriminalize Sex Work. In her brief career, Frances’s research and writing have focused on the criminalization of poverty in the United States, immigration, and reproductive justice. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2019 with a BA in sociology and political science. While living in St. Louis, she provided research support for Arch City Defenders (ACD) its successful 2019 lawsuit, which ruled St. Louis’s cash bail system unconstitutional and worked as a labor trafficking intern for the International Institute in St. Louis. Frances is also a Volunteer Rape Crisis Advocate for the Crime Victims Treatment Center in New York City.
