Woodhull’s Human Rights Commission – Censorship

Plaza Ballroom  ◆  August 4, 2022  ◆  2:00 pm – 4:00 pm  ◆  Will be Streamed

Human Rights Commissions exist to investigate, promote or protect human rights and to educate the public about those rights. Woodhull’s Human Rights Commission at #SFS22 will center on the issues of censorship and will illustrate the impact of censorship on inter-connected identities and communities. We’ll hear from individuals whose work as healthcare providers has been limited by censorship. We’ll hear from the Curator of the Kinsey Institute about how the collections of more than 100,000 pieces of art have been subject to censorship. We’ll hear from librarians on censorship of books, and we’ll hear from a person directly impacted by legislation in Florida, the “Don’t Say Gay” bill. Stay tuned for the announcement of panelists!
