Whole Body Listening: Connecting with Embodied Pleasure as a Trauma Survivor

In activism and organizing spaces (as well as our larger culture), many of our bodies carry the impacts of personal and collective trauma. Often, these leave us feeling afraid or unworthy of our own pleasure or unsure how to navigate our own and our partners’ boundaries and desires, especially when experiencing trauma triggers, dissociation, dysphoria, or other forms of disconnection. This workshop, with Candace Liger and Christy Croft, engages embodied pleasure as a component of healing from trauma, practicing strategies for identifying personal wants, needs, and triggers; learning to articulate and honor boundaries and access points; and practicing full-body noticing for pleasure, repair, and healing.
