Contractor Position: Spokes Hub Coordinator

Starting Compensation: $50/hr for up to $1000 a month (~5 hrs per week)

Location: Applicants must reside in the United States. This entire program is virtual. Programs and trainings will be hosted on Zoom.

About the program: Spokes Hub is a new virtual educational program aimed at supporting new advocates in developing their voice and authority on issues relating to sexual freedom. Participants are encouraged to deepen their understanding of complex issues through peer learning, critical thinking, and research, and to expand their advocacy skills through writing and public speaking. Spokes Hub is currently dedicated to advocates with lived experience in the sex trade.

Spokes Hub hosts a minimum of two graduations per year. New programming includes live virtual classes and e-learning modules. Graduates of the program receive access to an “Awards Pool” which offers compensation for public education work that is otherwise unpaid.

About the Position: We are seeking a part time contractor to aid in the overall coordination of Spokes Hub. This position will be supported by the Program Lead, who will oversee the onboarding and management of this position. The position will involve external communications with program participants and guest educators, as well as internal staff at Woodhull. For the right candidate who excels at coordination, additional hours may become available.

  • Applicants must have access to a computer or laptop, phone, and stable Internet.

Preferences: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in activities such as educational coordination, virtual learning, community organizing, program management, or event hosting. Preference will be given to candidates with lived experience in the sex trade

Selection Process & Timeline:
Promising candidates will be invited to a preliminary interview with the current program staff. Selected candidates will be offered a paid opportunity to complete a task for Spokes Hub. The task will be the same for all candidates. A final interview may be scheduled after the tasks are completed. The program staff will then make the final selection.
