FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — December 8, 2025 — Washington, DC
Woodhull Freedom Foundation Unveils New Fact Checked Module on Transgender & Gender-Expansive Myths
The Woodhull Freedom Foundation has released the newest module in its Fact Checked by Woodhull series, a public education initiative dedicated to separating fact from fear and lies on issues of sexual freedom and human rights.
This latest module about transgender and gender non-conforming individuals examines widespread myths about the transgender community. These deliberate lies contribute to harmful legislation impacting those who fall outside of the gender binary and violate the human rights of transgender and gender-expansive people.
“Misinformation about transgender and gender-expansive people doesn’t just distort public understanding, it endangers lives,” said Ricci Levy, President and CEO of the Woodhull Freedom Foundation. “Through Fact Checked by Woodhull, we’re cutting through the noise with truth, compassion, and evidence. Because freedom and equality depend on accurate information, not fear or falsehoods.”
Each Fact Checked article provides clear, accessible information to help the public counter misinformation and understand the rights that protect expression, identity, and autonomy. The series underscores Woodhull’s commitment to defending human rights by empowering individuals and communities with verified knowledge, as informed people are the strongest defenders of freedom.
The latest Fact Checked can be accessed on Woodhull’s website and is available for download here.
