Joan Price, author of The Ultimate Guide to Sex after Fifty: How to Maintain – or Regain! – a Spicy, Satisfying Sex Life, calls herself an advocate for ageless sexuality. She has been called other things by the media: “senior sexpert,” “the beautiful face of senior sex,” and—her favorite—”wrinkly sex kitten.” Joan has been writing, speaking, and blogging about senior sex since 2005. Formerly a health and fitness writer (and before that, a high school English teacher!), she switched topics to senior sex with her spicy memoir, Better Than I Ever Expected: Straight Talk about Sex After Sixty, written to celebrate the joys of older-age sexuality with her lover and future husband, artist Robert Rice, whom she met when she was 57 and he was 64. After hundreds of readers wrote Joan with questions and concerns about their own senior sex life, she wrote Naked at Our Age: Talking Out Loud about Senior Sex, to address the challenges of sex and aging. Naked at Our Age was chosen Outstanding Self-Help Book 2012 from the American Society of Journalists and Authors and received the 2012 Book Award from the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists. In 2013, Joan conceived and edited the steamy anthology, Ageless Erotica. Joan Price continues to talk out loud about senior sex — partnered or solo – in speeches and workshops, and on her zesty blog about sex and aging which includes senior sex news, views, and reviews of more than 75 sex toys from a senior perspective. She writes the “Sex at Our Age” column.
