Dr. Jessica Lee Mathiason is an Assistant Research Professor in the Harriet Tubman Department of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she teaches courses in AI & Society and Gender, Race, and Computing. Her forthcoming book, FemTech: AI, Digital Health Technologies, and the Corporate Construction of Disease, examines how the history of women’s health informs the design and politics of today’s digital technologies. Dr. Mathiason’s work has also been published in leading journals including Feminist Studies, Gender and History, Cultural Critique, and Transgender Studies Quarterly.
